Jordan Liu: What Does It Take to Become an Irvine Police Officer

"Thank you to Officers Funaki & Jordan for speaking to our WHS students on February 23rd and sharing your career story! The students were able to learn about the steps required to become a sworn officer and the rewards and challenges you face as you help keep our campus and community safe. The surprise guest appearance of Ronnie, IPD's Support K9 dog, at the end of the presentation was a big hit with the students, as well, who eagerly gathered around for their chance to pet him. Thank you for inspiring our students and for all that you do for our Irvine community!" #woodbridgeptsa 🐕❤💛

Public Safety Assistant Lui currently works as a liaison with our Chinese community. She has played a key role in the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program and helped adapt it for Chinese residents. Officer Funaki, as our WHS School Resource Officer, is a sworn Police Officer assigned to our school to act as a resource for students, parents and school administrators. Through enforcement of the law and education on many topics, Officer Funaki forms a direct link between the Irvine youth community and IPD. Come hear how both Public Safety Assistant Lui's and Officer Funaki's careers have led them to help our city through the Irvine Police Department. Snacks will be provided!
